Description
Reconstructed head of Epicyon haydeni(based on Mauricio Anton's drawing), the largest and the strongest species in the canid family. well this may be 60-70% finished.
Epicyon ("near dog") is a large extinct canid genus of the subfamily Borophaginae ("bone-crushing dogs"), native to North America. It lived through out the Miocene era.
One fossil specimen weighed an estimated 101.7 kg (224.2 lbs) and a second weighed an estimated 85.6 kg(188.7 lbs). (thus they were substantially larger even than notorious dire wolves)
Epicyon, like some hayenas, had an enlarged lower forth premolar, enabling it to deliver powerful bone crashing bite.
