Description

A preparatory sketch(pencils and charcoal pencils) of Deinotherium thraceiensis, "Dino-elephant"(this is just my expression, a proper nick should be 'terrible beast' which is boring lol) that was found in Ezerovo, Bulgaria (I'm not so sure if it's a synonym for D.giganteum) and because of the humongous size of the skeleton, it is believed by some to have been the second largest land mammal only after Paraceratherium, rivaling even the largest of mammoth species in weight.

More information will come from my amateur paleontologist friend from Basque.

I will certainly finish this illustration ahead of Smilodon populator(advices as to the morphology will be greatly welcomed!).

My impression of this bizarre lower-tusker, apart from its long legs and neck(for proboscidea), is kind of a monstrously over-sized tapir, having a particularily flat and eleongated(from front to back) head, way different from today's elephant's.
